Charlotte Chair

The Charlotte Chair is a light, modern dining side chair built on a slim steel frame. A curved wood veneer back panel sits on two thin uprights above a plump upholstered seat, and four straight legs splay slightly for a stable, graceful stance. Shown with a brass-tone frame, a walnut-tone veneer back and a green channel-stitched seat, it has a playful mid-century feel.

The Charlotte is easy to dress up or down: choose a black frame and oak veneer for a cafe, or a premium metal finish and velvet for a hotel restaurant. It is stackable, which helps with banquet resets and storage, and it coordinates with the matching Charlotte Stool. It is part of our Alpine Lodge Collection.

Built for commercial use

The Charlotte's steel frame is welded rather than bolted. The chair is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled. The chair stacks for storage and quick room changes. Ganging hardware may be available depending on the chair. We do not stock stacking carts, but they can be custom made on request. It carries a 3-year frame structural warranty, plus a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment. Each chair comes standard with heavy-duty nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet.

Finishes and upholstery

Frame (Metal Finish A): a wide range of powder-coat colors from our Color Finish Series, metal finishes such as matte gunmetal and brushed galvanized, and premium finishes including antique brass, brushed copper, dark bronze and rust patina.

Seat back veneer (Wood Option C): white oak, walnut, red oak, oak, black oak, antiqued willow, antiqued rubber or antiqued maple veneer.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option A): standard and deluxe faux leathers in warm browns, blacks, blues, greens, teals and vintage finishes.

Leather (Leather Option B): pebbled black, copper, pebbled lead, pebbled battleship, ash grey and vintage umber brown.

Fabric (Fabric Option B): velvets in sand, rust, teal, fern green, starlight blue, royalty blue, black and goldenrod, plus performance fabrics rated 100,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

COM/COL: accepted (minimums apply).

For commercial seating, we recommend specifying upholstery rated at 75,000 to 100,000 double rubs. COM and COL are accepted, and we will provide the yardage. Our upholstery double rubs guide explains the ratings.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
