Conrad Chair

The Conrad Chair is the classic café bentwood chair reimagined in welded steel. Its looped back frames an inner hoop, the round seat sits on four gently splayed legs, and a ring stretcher braces the base, all drawn in slim tubing that keeps the outline light and familiar.

Built entirely of steel and finished in powder coat, the Conrad can be used outdoors as well as in, which lets one chair carry a dining room out onto a sidewalk café or courtyard. Color is where it gets personal: choose from our Metal Option A finishes or a custom powder coat color, from black or gunmetal to the soft mint shown. It coordinates with the Conrad Bar Stool and the Conrad Chair with Wood Seat.

Built for commercial use

The steel frame is welded, not bolted, so there is nothing to tighten as the chair is pulled in and out all service long. The Conrad is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards. It ships fully assembled from the factory and carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish warranty from shipment. It is usable outdoors, so it can work on patios and sidewalk cafés as well as indoors.

Finishes and upholstery

Metal (Metal Option A): a broad palette of powder coat finishes, including the Color Finish Series (matte and gloss colors from black, white and charcoal to red, orange, yellow, mint, aqua and midnight blue, plus shades such as seafoam, steel blue and brick red), the Metal Finish Series (matte gunmetal and brushed galvanized) and Premium Finishes (dark bronze, rust patina, matte red rust, brushed copper and antique brass). Custom powder coat colors are also available.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
