Conrad Chair with Wood Seat

The Conrad Chair with Wood Seat keeps the steel bentwood frame of the Conrad and adds a solid wood seat, a pairing that softens the look and brings a natural tone to the table. The looped back with its inner hoop, the slim splayed legs and the ring stretcher are all there, drawn in welded steel tubing.

Shown with a black frame and a natural wood seat, it is the most traditional version of the Conrad, at home in a café, wine bar or bistro dining room. The frame comes in any Metal Option A finish, and the seat in our Wood Option A species, from European beech and ash to oak and American walnut. Because of the wood seat it is intended for indoor rooms; for patios, specify the all-steel Conrad Chair. It coordinates with the Conrad Bar Stool.

Built for commercial use

The steel frame is welded, not bolted, so it holds its shape through years of daily seating. The chair is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards. It ships fully assembled from the factory and carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Metal (Metal Option A): a broad palette of powder coat finishes, including the Color Finish Series (matte and gloss colors from black, white and charcoal to red, orange, yellow, mint, aqua and midnight blue, plus shades such as seafoam, steel blue and brick red), the Metal Finish Series (matte gunmetal and brushed galvanized) and Premium Finishes (dark bronze, rust patina, matte red rust, brushed copper and antique brass). Custom powder coat colors are also available.

Wood seat (Wood Option A): teak (unfinished or oiled), oak, medium brown stained ash, European beech, ash in chestnut brown, ash in brushed antique cherry, natural ash, antiqued ash and American walnut.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
