JX Chair with Upholstered Back

The JX Chair with Upholstered Back keeps the graceful yoke-back form of the JX Chair, a curved top rail that extends just past the rear posts and an arched rail beneath the seat front, and upholsters the vertical back splat to match the seat. The padded splat adds comfort where the shoulders meet the chair and lets you carry color or texture up into the back.

It is ideal when you want the sculptural, Asian-inspired lines of the JX with a softer, more tailored feel, for example in private dining rooms, hotel restaurants or club dining. The wood frame is offered in walnut, white oak, ash and beech finishes, and the seat and back can be done in leather, faux leather, fabric or COM. It is part of our Coastal & Rooftop Collection and coordinates with the JX Chair and the JX Stool.

Built for commercial use

Wood should not be used outdoors, so on rooftops and terraces plan the JX for covered or indoor areas. The solid wood frame is joined with mortise-and-tenon construction and very few bolted connections, so it stays tight through years of daily service. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and the foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and is backed by a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): North American ash, European beech, black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, ashwood with light walnut stain, ashwood with dark walnut stain, American white oak and American walnut.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, from classic neutrals and rich browns to distressed finishes and saturated colors.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): an extensive range of standard and deluxe faux leathers, from black, white and grays to warm browns, greens, blues and glazed finishes.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a wide selection of woven fabrics and tweeds, with many performance options rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

COM/COL: customer's own material or leather is accepted (minimums may apply), and we will provide the yardage.

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request.
