Lucera Chair (Stitched or Tufted)

The Lucera Chair (Tufted) is an upholstered dining chair with a solid wood frame and a button-tufted seat and back. The back flares gently outward toward the top, like a small wingback, and the tufting gives it a softly quilted, tailored look. Four tapered solid wood legs lift the upholstered shell for a lighter, mid-century feel.

The enveloping back and padded seat make the Lucera one of the more comfortable dining chairs for long, lingering meals. Shown in a soft grey fabric on walnut-toned legs, it suits steakhouses, hotel dining rooms and lodge-style restaurants, and it can go richer in leather or brighter in a bold fabric.

Built for commercial use

The Lucera is built with a solid wood frame using mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and is backed by a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment. Each chair comes standard with heavy-duty nail-on nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): American walnut, American white oak, North American ash and European beech, plus black painted ash (open pore), ash with a light or dark walnut stain, and beech with a walnut stain.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, from classic blacks, ivories and browns to rich cognacs, greens and distressed finishes.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): standard and deluxe faux leathers in neutrals, warm browns, blues, greens and pebbled and glazed textures.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a broad selection of commercial fabrics and tweeds in neutrals and saturated colors, many rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

For commercial use we recommend specifying upholstery rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs. COM and COL are accepted, and we will provide the yardage required. See our upholstery double rubs guide for more detail.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
