Olin Chair

The Olin Chair is a crisp, Scandinavian-inspired wood dining chair with an honest, open frame. A broad, gently curved solid wood back panel is carried on rear posts that rise straight from the legs, and an upholstered seat sits within a clean rectangular frame tied together by side and front stretchers. The result is light, sturdy and quietly handsome.

The Olin lets the wood do the talking, so it shines in American white oak or ash for a bright, natural room, or in American walnut or a dark walnut stain for a richer, more traditional feel. The padded seat can be upholstered in leather, faux leather, fabric or COM. Its compact 19.25" width makes it efficient in cafes, hotel breakfast rooms and neighborhood restaurants where every seat counts.

Built for commercial use

The solid wood frame uses mortise-and-tenon joinery with very few bolted connections, so it stays tight through years of service and develops the patina of heirloom furniture over time. The Olin is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled and carries our 3-year frame structural warranty and 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): North American ash, European beech, black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, ashwood with light walnut stain, ashwood with dark walnut stain, American white oak and American walnut.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, including distressed and richly colored hides.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): a broad selection of standard and deluxe faux leathers, including vintage, glazed and pebbled finishes.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a wide range of commercial fabrics and tweeds, many rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

COM is accepted (minimums apply), and we will provide the yardage.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
