Shell Stool with Bolt Down Base

The Shell Stool with Bolt Down Base pairs a deeply curved, fully upholstered tub seat with a slim metal column anchored to the floor. Soft vertical seams run around the rounded back, which wraps forward into the sides to hold the sitter comfortably, and a round footring circles the column at a natural resting height.

Because it is fixed in place, the Shell is ideal where stools should stay exactly where the designer put them: along a bar rail, a chef's counter or a casino lounge. Finish the base in polished stainless, brushed brass, black brass or black powder coat, and upholster the seat in leather for a classic steakhouse or cocktail-bar look. Built for commercial use

The Shell is built on a welded steel frame rather than a bolted one. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. When the optional swivel is specified, the seat has an auto-return mechanism. Important: this stool must be bolted to the floor and is not intended to be used freestanding. Please consult a licensed contractor for installation; hardware to bolt the stools to the floor is not included. It carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Base finish: polished stainless steel, brushed brass, black brass or black powder coated steel.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, including distressed premium hides in rich browns, greens and reds.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): standard and deluxe faux leathers in a broad palette of neutrals, browns, blues and greens.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a wide selection of commercial fabrics, including tweeds and performance textiles in many colors. COM is also accepted.

For customer-supplied material, we recommend specifying a commercial-grade textile rated at 75,000–100,000 double rubs. We accept COM and COL and will give you the exact yardage. See our upholstery double rubs guide for more.

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request.
