Thru Chair

The Thru Chair is a lean, modern stacking side chair built on a slim tubular steel frame. A gently curved back shell sits on two rear uprights that run continuously down to the floor, and the seat rests on a fine-lined base with straight legs. Offered with a wood veneer or upholstered seat and back, it reads crisp and graphic in a dining room, cafe or event space.

The veneer versions in walnut and ash bring warmth and an easy wipe-down surface, while the upholstered versions in dark blue, pewter grey and lead grey fabric add softness and color. The Thru stacks for storage, is in stock in our quick ship program, and coordinates with the Thru Stool for bar and counter seating.

Built for commercial use

The Thru's steel frame is welded, not bolted, for long-lasting rigidity. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and the foam and upholstery on upholstered versions meet CAL TB 117-2013. The chair stacks for storage, and ganging hardware may be available depending on the chair. We do not stock stacking carts, but they can be custom made on request. It ships fully assembled from the factory and carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Lead times and ordering

This item is in stock in our quick ship program and ships within 2–3 days of order and payment, nationwide. Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
