Werner Chair

The Werner Chair takes its cue from the classic mid-century school chair. A welded steel frame with slim, angled legs carries a curved wood veneer seat and a separate curved back panel that floats on two steel uprights. The splayed front legs give the chair a sense of movement, and the gap between seat and back keeps it looking light and graphic from every angle.

Pairing a powder-coated frame with warm wood veneer, the Werner brings an easy industrial character to cafes, restaurants, food halls and campus dining rooms. Specify the frame in black or gunmetal for a workshop feel, or in a color from our powder coat range for something playful. It coordinates with the Werner Stool and the Werner Upholstered Chair, so a space can mix wood and upholstered seats while keeping one consistent silhouette.

Built for commercial use

The Werner frame is welded steel, not bolted, for strength in daily service. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards. The chair ships fully assembled from the factory and carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Metal (Metal Option A): Color Finish Series powder coats in dozens of matte and gloss colors, from black, white and charcoal to brick red, seafoam, steel blue and sunflower; Metal Finish Series in matte gunmetal and brushed galvanized; and Premium Finishes including dark bronze, rust patina, matte red rust, brushed copper and antique brass.

Wood veneer (Wood Option C): white oak, walnut, red oak, oak, black oak, antiqued willow, antiqued rubber and antiqued maple.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
