The Edgar Side Chair is a crisp, Scandinavian-inspired dining chair built around one confident gesture: a wide, curved back that wraps gently around the sitter and appears to float above the seat on two slim rear posts. Round, lightly tapered legs and an H-pattern stretcher complete a frame that feels light and open, letting the chair sit comfortably in rooms that lean mid-century, Nordic or simply modern.
The solid wood frame is paired with a wood veneer seat and back, giving an all-wood look that is easy to clean between seatings. It is offered in American walnut, American white oak, ash and beech, plus several stains, so it can blend with existing millwork or stand out against it. The Edgar Side Chair anchors a larger family that includes arm chairs and upholstered versions, and it is part of our Alpine Lodge and Casino and Gaming collections.
Like almost all of our wood seating, the Edgar is built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections, so it stays tight through years of daily service. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards. The chair ships fully assembled from the factory and is covered by our 3-year frame structural warranty and 1-year finish warranty from shipment.
Plan on about 24" per seat along a table edge. Our restaurant seating layout guide covers clearances and aisle widths.
The seat and back are wood veneer, finished to match the frame.
Wood (Wood Option B): North American ash, European beech, black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, ashwood with light or dark walnut stain, American white oak and American walnut.
