Ellis Chair

The Ellis Chair is a clean, efficient stacking chair with a classic modernist frame. A continuous tubular steel sled base runs along the floor and rises to form the back posts, and a curved wood veneer seat and back are set into the frame. The look recalls mid-century school and cafe chairs, light and practical, with a warm wood surface against a slim metal outline.

Because it stacks, the Ellis is a strong choice for multipurpose rooms, banquet spaces and restaurants that need to clear the floor quickly. The veneer seat and back are offered in a range of oak, walnut and antiqued finishes, and the frame can be powder coated in a standard or custom color to suit a brand palette.

Built for commercial use

The steel frame is welded, not bolted, for long-term rigidity. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards. The Ellis stacks for storage. Ganging hardware may be available depending on the chair. We do not stock stacking carts, but they can be custom made on request. The chair ships fully assembled from the factory and is covered by our 3-year frame structural warranty and 1-year finish warranty from shipment. Each chair comes standard with heavy-duty nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet.

Finishes and upholstery

Metal (Metal Option A): a wide range of powder coats, from our Color Finish Series (matte or gloss black, white, charcoal, reds, blues, greens, yellows and more) to Metal Finish Series options like matte gunmetal and brushed galvanized, and Premium Finishes such as dark bronze, rust patina, brushed copper and antique brass. Custom powder coat colors are also available.

Wood veneer (Wood Option C): white oak, walnut, red oak, oak, black oak, antiqued willow, antiqued rubber and antiqued maple.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
