Yardbird Chair

The Yardbird Chair is a compact industrial side chair with a welded steel frame and a wood veneer seat and back. The legs angle outward in an A-frame stance and are braced by flat steel stretchers, while the curved veneer back floats on a pair of steel uprights above the seat. It has the honest, workshop look of a vintage drafting chair, tidied up for the dining room.

Pairing a matte powder-coated frame with warm wood veneer, the Yardbird suits cafes, gastropubs, breweries, campus dining and hotel lobby restaurants. Its small footprint makes it easy to fit into busy floor plans. Granville in Studio City is shown in the project photos on this page. Built for commercial use

The Yardbird frame is welded steel, not bolted, for strength in daily service. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards. It ships fully assembled from the factory and carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Metal (Metal Option B): matte white, matte warm gray, matte silver gray, matte orange, matte dark gray (sand finish), matte black, dark gray and army green.

Wood (Wood Option D): North American ash, European beech, black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, ashwood with light walnut stain, ashwood with dark walnut stain, American white oak and American walnut.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
