Youngston Wood Series Chair

The Youngston Wood Series Chair pairs the industrial steel frame of the Youngston with a solid wood seat and seat back, for a warmer, more natural take on the design. The flat rectangular wood back rests on two steel posts, the wood seat sits on a square steel frame, and four straight legs are braced by double stretchers on each side. Shown in a dark frame with a light natural wood, the contrast is crisp and workshop-inspired.

Solid wood surfaces are easy to wipe down between turns, making this a practical choice for busy restaurants, brewpubs and casual hotel dining. If you want a little more cushion, an upholstered seat is available while keeping the wood back. Choose from a wide range of powder coat colors, or a custom powder coat color, and coordinate with the Youngston Wood Series Stool at the bar.

Built for commercial use

The steel frame is welded, not bolted, for long-term rigidity in high-traffic dining rooms. The chair is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards; on versions with the optional upholstered seat, foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory with our 3-year frame structural warranty and 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option A): teak (unfinished or oiled), oak, ash in natural, antiqued, medium brown, chestnut brown and brushed antique cherry tones, European beech and American walnut.

Metal (Metal Option A): a broad powder coat palette that includes the Color Finish Series (matte or gloss black, white, charcoal, reds, blues, greens, yellows and more), the Metal Finish Series (matte gunmetal and brushed galvanized) and Premium Finishes such as dark bronze, rust patina, brushed copper, antique brass and matte red rust.

Custom powder coat: a custom powder coat color can also be specified.

Optional upholstered seat: Faux Leather Option A (standard and deluxe faux leathers), Leather Option B (pebbled black, copper, pebbled lead, pebbled battleship, ash grey, vintage umber brown), Fabric Option B (velvets plus Fighter and Medley performance fabrics) or COM (minimums may apply).

For commercial seating we recommend specifying upholstery rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs. COM and COL are accepted, and we will provide the yardage your fabric or leather supplier needs. See our upholstery double rubs guide for more.

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
