The Floyd Side Chair is a simple, schoolhouse-inspired side chair with a slim tubular steel frame and a wood veneer seat and seat back. The steel tube runs straight up from the back legs to frame a curved veneer backrest, and the molded veneer seat sits on a steel seat frame with a gentle waterfall front edge. Warm wood grain set against the dark frame gives it an honest, graphic look.
The Floyd brings an easy industrial and mid-century character to cafes, casual restaurants, campus dining and banquet rooms. The hard veneer seat is quick to wipe down between turns, the compact frame fits tight layouts, and the chair stacks for storage. Mix frame colors and wood finishes to suit the space, and coordinate with the Floyd arm chairs and upholstered versions for a consistent look across a project.
The Floyd's steel frame is welded, not bolted, and the chair ships fully assembled from the factory. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards. The chair stacks for compact storage. Ganging hardware may be available depending on the chair. We do not stock stacking carts, but they can be custom made on request. Coverage includes a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish warranty from shipment.
Plan about 24" per seat at tables. The Floyd's compact 18.75" width helps when you need to fit more covers. See our restaurant seating layout guide.
Wood (Wood Option D): American ash, black painted ash, American white oak and American walnut.
Metal (Metal Finish B): matte white, matte warm gray, matte silver gray, matte orange, matte dark gray (sand finish), matte black, dark gray and army green.
