The Horn Chair takes its name from its signature back rail: a single, sculpted piece of solid wood that curves around the sitter and tapers out into short, horn-like arms. The rail floats above the seat on a slim central support and the rear legs, leaving the back open and airy. Below, a padded upholstered seat sits on a solid wood frame with simple stretchers, a design rooted in Scandinavian mid-century craft.
Wide and comfortable at 24.5", the Horn works beautifully in steakhouses, hotel restaurants and club dining rooms, especially in walnut with leather. It coordinates with the Horn Stool for a matched bar.
The solid wood frame is built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.
With its wide back rail, plan on about 26–28" per seat at the table. Our restaurant seating layout guide and wood restaurant chairs guide cover spacing and selection.
Wood (Wood Option B): American walnut, American white oak, North American ash and European beech, plus walnut-stained beech, light and dark walnut-stained ash and black painted open-pore ash.
Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, including distressed premium hides in deep browns, greens and reds.
Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): standard and deluxe faux leathers in neutrals, earth tones, blues and greens.
Fabric (Fabric Option A): a broad selection of commercial fabrics and tweeds, many rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.
COM/COL: customer's own material is welcome (minimums apply), and we will provide the yardage.
For commercial use, we recommend specifying upholstery rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs. Our upholstery double rubs guide explains why.
