The JP Chair mixes materials with a light touch: a slender steel frame, an upholstered seat, and a rounded solid wood back framing a panel of woven cane. The soft oval back floats above the seat on thin metal uprights, so the chair feels airy and a little retro, with the cane adding natural texture that reads beautifully in daylight.
Specify the frame in polished chrome plating for a bright, bistro look, or powder coat it in one of our standard or premium metal finishes to match your hardware and lighting. The wood back is offered in beech, natural or stained ash and walnut, and the seat in fabric, faux leather, leather or COM. At 17.75" wide it is compact enough for tight two-tops in cafes and restaurants, and it pairs directly with the JP Stool for bars and counters.
The metal frame is welded, not bolted, so there are no connections to work loose in a busy dining room. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and the foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and is backed by a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.
Plan on about 24" per seat at dining tables and leave clear aisles behind chair backs for servers. Our restaurant seating layout guide walks through spacing and table counts.
