Leggett Chair

The Leggett Chair is a mid-century style dining side chair with a solid wood frame, an upholstered seat and a veneer wood back. Two gently curved horizontal back rails, stacked one above the other, span between the rear posts and give the chair its open, airy character, while the cushioned seat and straight legs with stretchers keep the base grounded and simple.

Its compact 18.75" footprint makes it easy to fit around two-tops and banquettes without losing the warmth of a wood chair. In oak or ash with a dark seat it feels crisp and Scandinavian; in walnut with leather it takes on a richer, more formal tone for hotel dining and casino restaurants.

Built for commercial use

The Leggett is built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and is backed by a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Plan about 24" per seat at tables. With a 19.75" seat height, confirm the seat to tabletop distance on your tables (10" to 12" is typical). Our restaurant seating layout guide has more.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): American walnut, American white oak, North American ash and European beech, plus black painted ash (open pore), ash with a light or dark walnut stain, and beech with a walnut stain.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, from classic blacks, ivories and browns to rich cognacs, greens and distressed finishes.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): standard and deluxe faux leathers in neutrals, warm browns, blues, greens and pebbled and glazed textures.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a broad selection of commercial fabrics and tweeds in neutrals and saturated colors, many rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

For commercial use we recommend specifying upholstery rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs. COM and COL are accepted, and we will provide the yardage required. See our upholstery double rubs guide for more detail.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
