Nash Upholstered Chair

The Nash Upholstered Chair adds comfort to both the seat and the back of our clean, Scandinavian-inspired Nash design. The square solid wood legs and low H-stretcher stay the same, while the wide horizontal back panel is upholstered and a padded seat is set into the frame. The chair keeps its crisp, open outline, with soft surfaces exactly where guests lean and sit.

Because the seat and back panel are upholstered separately, designers can play with combinations: a cognac leather seat with a cream back on natural oak, as shown, feels fresh and boutique, while a single dark leather on walnut reads tailored and classic. It sits comfortably beside the all-wood Nash and the other upholstered versions, and pairs with the Nash Upholstered Stool at the bar.

Built for commercial use

The Nash uses mortise-and-tenon joinery with very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory. The frame carries a 3-year structural warranty, and finish and upholstery are covered for 1 year from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): American walnut, American white oak, North American ash and European beech, plus black painted ash (open pore), beech with walnut stain, and ash with light or dark walnut stain.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, from classic blacks, browns and grays to rich cognacs, greens and blues, including distressed premium hides.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): standard and deluxe faux leathers in a broad palette of neutrals, browns, blues, greens and warm accent colors.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a wide range of contract fabrics and tweeds, including Fighter (130,000 double rubs) and Medley (100,000 double rubs) performance fabrics and other options rated 72,000–80,000 double rubs.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
