Niles Chair

The Niles Chair is a refined wood dining chair with a sculpted, mid-century spirit. A curved solid wood top rail sweeps around the back and frames an upholstered back panel, while a padded upholstered seat sits on a lightly tapered leg frame with slim stretchers. The interplay of exposed wood and soft upholstery gives it a tailored, residential warmth that still stands up to commercial use.

The Niles is offered in a range of solid woods, from American walnut and white oak to stained ash and beech, and can be upholstered in leather, faux leather, fabric or COM, so it can be tuned for a polished steakhouse, a hotel restaurant or a relaxed private dining room. Its 20.75" width and 17.25" seat height make it comfortable for long meals without taking up too much floor space.

Built for commercial use

The solid wood frame uses mortise-and-tenon joinery with very few bolted connections, so it stays tight through years of service and develops the patina of heirloom furniture over time. The Niles is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled and carries our 3-year frame structural warranty and 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): North American ash, European beech, black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, ashwood with light walnut stain, ashwood with dark walnut stain, American white oak and American walnut.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, including distressed and richly colored hides.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): a broad selection of standard and deluxe faux leathers, including vintage, glazed and pebbled finishes.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a wide range of commercial fabrics and tweeds, many rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

COM is accepted (minimums apply), and we will provide the yardage.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
