The Rod Stool lifts the sculpted shell of the Rod Chair to bar and counter height. A gently curved seat and veneer wood back, with an upholstered seat, sit on a slender frame of thin rods. Four straight legs angle slightly outward and are tied together by a ring of rails that doubles as a foot rest, giving the stool a light, graphic presence along a bar.
The steel frame comes standard in a matte black powder coat finish and is also available in brushed brass or polished stainless steel, and the seat can be done in leather, faux leather, fabric or your own material. The Rod Stool appears alongside other Designform pieces at Imperial Hardware Lofts in Riverside, CA, shown in the project photos on this page, and it coordinates with the Rod Chair.
The Rod Stool has a welded steel frame rather than a bolted one, so it stays rigid through daily use at the bar. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment. Each stool comes standard with heavy-duty nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet.
