The Rod Chair pairs a sculpted, upholstered seat with a slender metal frame for a polished, contemporary look. The seat and veneer wood back form a gently curved shell that cradles the sitter, and it sits on a fine frame of thin rods, with four straight legs braced by side and front stretchers. From any angle, the frame reads as a delicate line drawing beneath the solid shell.
Shown in a deep teal with a brushed brass color frame, the Rod brings a jewelry-box quality to restaurant dining rooms and hotel bars. The steel frame comes standard in a matte black powder coat finish and is also available in brushed brass or polished stainless steel, and the seat can be done in leather, faux leather, fabric or your own material. It coordinates with the Rod Stool.
The Rod has a welded metal frame rather than a bolted one, so it stays rigid despite its slim profile. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment. Each chair comes standard with heavy-duty nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet.
The compact footprint works well in busy dining rooms. Allow about 24" per seat at tables. Our restaurant seating layout guide covers aisle widths and table spacing.
