Strazzo Chair

The Strazzo Chair is a solid wood side chair with a fully upholstered seat and back. A squared wood frame outlines the chair, with the back posts running straight down into the rear legs and an open gap between seat and back. The back is upholstered with horizontal channel stitching, as shown in the photo, giving it a tailored, slightly retro look, and the cushioned seat makes it comfortable through a long dinner.

The Strazzo works well where you want the warmth of real wood and the comfort of upholstery in one chair, from hotel restaurants and country club dining rooms to senior living. Specify the frame in American walnut, American white oak, North American ash or European beech, or in stained and painted finishes, and choose from leathers, faux leathers and commercial fabrics, or provide your own material.

Built for commercial use

The solid wood frame uses mortise-and-tenon joinery with very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. The chair ships fully assembled and is backed by a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment. The wood frame is intended for indoor use.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): American walnut, American white oak, North American ash, European beech, beechwood with walnut stain, ashwood with light or dark walnut stain, and black painted ash (open pore).

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, including distressed finishes.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): standard and deluxe faux leathers in a broad range of neutrals and colors.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a wide range of commercial fabrics and tweeds, many rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

COM: customer's own material is accepted. For commercial use, we recommend fabrics rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs; COM and COL are accepted, and we will provide the yardage. See our upholstery double rubs guide.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
