Aspen Side Chair

The Aspen Side Chair is the armless member of the Aspen family: a solid wood frame with a fully upholstered seat and back, shaped for long, comfortable meals. The back is tall enough to give real support and curves gently around the sitter, while the overall profile stays compact enough for busy dining rooms.

The legs splay slightly outward and are joined by stretchers, giving the chair a relaxed mid-century character that works equally well in a lodge-style restaurant or a refined steakhouse. Pair warm natural wood with rich leather for a classic look, or go darker with walnut tones and fabric. It coordinates with the Aspen Arm Chair and the Aspen Stool with Arms.

Built for commercial use

The Aspen Side Chair uses mortise-and-tenon wood joinery with very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and the foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and is covered by a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment. Built from quality hardwoods and upholstery, it is made to break in over time and develop the patina of heirloom furniture.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): North American ash, European beech, black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, ashwood with light walnut stain, ashwood with dark walnut stain, American white oak and American walnut.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, from classic neutrals to distressed and saturated tones.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): standard and deluxe faux leathers in a broad palette of neutrals, browns, greens and blues.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a large selection of commercial fabrics and tweeds, many rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

COM/COL: customer's own material or leather is accepted, and we will provide the yardage.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
