Tavern Stool

The Tavern Stool is a generously scaled, fully upholstered bar and counter stool with a solid wood frame and classic tavern character. A wide, round upholstered seat sits on four sturdy wood legs joined by a ring stretcher, and a curved upholstered back band wraps around the sitter on wood supports, offering real back support while keeping the profile low and open. Silver or brushed brass nail head detail traces the upholstery, and the footrest is protected by a brushed stainless cover, or optional brushed brass.

Shown in a light wood with cognac-toned upholstery, the Tavern feels at home in steakhouses, hotel bars and lodge-inspired dining rooms, where guests linger. With a deep menu of wood finishes, leathers, faux leathers and fabrics, it can be dressed up in rich walnut and leather or kept light and relaxed in natural oak and fabric.

Built for commercial use

Like almost all of our wood products, the Tavern Stool is built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections, so it stays solid through years of service. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and carries our 3-year frame structural warranty and 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment. Each stool comes standard with heavy-duty nail-on nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet. It also comes standard with a stainless steel foot rest cover, available as an option in brushed brass or black brass.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): North American ash, European beech, black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, ashwood with light or dark walnut stain, American white oak and American walnut.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, including distressed premium leathers in tones from whiskey and bourbon to olive and brick.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): standard and deluxe faux leathers in a broad palette of neutrals, browns, blues, greens and reds.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a broad selection of fabrics and tweeds, including performance fabrics rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

Nail heads: silver or brushed brass. Footrest cover: brushed stainless or optional brushed brass.

COM is accepted (minimums apply).

For commercial seating we recommend specifying upholstery rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs. COM and COL are accepted, and we will provide the yardage your fabric or leather supplier needs. See our upholstery double rubs guide for more.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample stools are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
