Aksel Stool

The Aksel Stool is a backless bar and counter stool with a clean, tailored profile. A square upholstered cushion, finished with a neat grid of tufting, sits on a slim four-leg metal frame tied together by a square foot rail. The straight lines and crisp corners give it a modern, gallery-like look that fits as easily in a hotel lobby bar as along a restaurant counter.

The frame comes in polished stainless steel or brushed brass, and the seat can be upholstered in leather, faux leather, fabric or your own material. Polished steel reads cool and contemporary, while brushed brass brings warmth to darker, moodier rooms. Because it has no back, the Aksel tucks fully under a bar overhang and keeps sightlines open across the room, and it comes in both bar and counter heights so one look can run through the whole space.

Built for commercial use

The Aksel's metal frame is welded, not bolted, so it stays rigid through constant daily use at the bar. It is tested to 400 lbs and to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. Each stool ships fully assembled from our factory and is covered by a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty.

Finishes and upholstery

Frame: polished stainless steel or brushed brass.

Leather (Leather Option A): standard, deluxe and premium leathers, including distressed leathers such as Distressed Bourbon, Distressed Hickory and Distressed Whiskey.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): a wide range of standard and deluxe faux leathers in neutrals, blues, greens and warm earth tones.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a broad range of commercial fabrics and tweeds, many rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs, or COM (customer's own material; minimums apply).

For commercial use, specify upholstery rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs. We accept COM and COL and will give you the yardage needed for each piece. See our guide to double rubs.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample stools are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
