Brunn Chair

The Brunn Chair is a solid wood dining side chair with understated mid-century character. Three gently curved horizontal slats span the back between tapered rear posts, creating an open ladder back that supports the sitter while keeping the chair light and easy on the eye. Slim tapered legs and side stretchers carry a padded upholstered seat.

The Brunn's clean, honest lines make it easy to specify across restaurant dining rooms, hotel restaurants and club grills, and it pairs naturally with both wood and stone table tops. Choose our American walnut, white oak, ash or European beech finishes, and upholster the seat in leather, faux leather, fabric or COM. Dark walnut with a black seat reads classic and tailored, while white oak with a light fabric feels bright and Scandinavian.

Built for commercial use

The Brunn is built from solid wood with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and is backed by a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment. It is made to break in over time and develop the patina of heirloom furniture. Each chair comes standard with heavy-duty nail-on nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): North American ash, European beech, black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, ashwood with light or dark walnut stain, American white oak and American walnut.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, including distressed premium hides.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): a broad palette of standard and deluxe faux leathers.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a wide selection of commercial fabrics and tweeds.

COM/COL: accepted (minimums may apply).

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
