Monrowe Chair

The Monrowe Chair is a refined solid wood dining chair with quietly modern lines. Slim, squared legs rise into a gently curved top rail, and a padded upholstered seat sits within the frame, with side and rear stretchers tying the structure together. The open space between the seat and the back rail keeps the chair light and airy, so it looks just as good from behind as it does at the table.

In American walnut with a black leather seat it feels tailored and warm, a natural fit for hotel restaurants and club dining rooms; in white oak or ash with a lighter fabric it becomes relaxed and Scandinavian in spirit. Its 18" x 18" seat gives guests generous room without a bulky footprint.

Built for commercial use

Like almost all of our wood chairs, the Monrowe uses mortise-and-tenon joinery with very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory. The frame carries a 3-year structural warranty, and finish and upholstery are covered for 1 year from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): American walnut, American white oak, North American ash and European beech, plus black painted ash (open pore), beech with walnut stain, and ash with light or dark walnut stain.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, from classic blacks, browns and grays to rich cognacs, greens and blues, including distressed premium hides.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): standard and deluxe faux leathers in a broad palette of neutrals, browns, blues, greens and warm accent colors.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a wide range of contract fabrics and tweeds, including Fighter (130,000 double rubs) and Medley (100,000 double rubs) performance fabrics and other options rated 72,000–80,000 double rubs.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
